Food Entrepreneurs will have hands-on practice learning how to take pH and soluble solids readings on food products and practice how to keep the necessary records for selling food products.   Learn best practices to help you offer consistently high-quality food products your customers will come to expect.  Learn about batch testing available to you at ISU, how to establish SOPs for your home business and what is required on labels. What you’ll learn: 

  • Understand the guidelines, food safety, and the science supporting the guidelines for home food entrepreneurs
  • Practice and use the testing equipment required for home food entrepreneurs and be able to complete batch records
  • Generate appropriate food labels for foods sold from your home
  • Be equipped to adopt food safety best practices for consistent, high-quality products in your home food business
