Inaugural Laclede County Ag Summit and Expo

This is a free, half-day program hosted by MU Extension. It provides access to essential resources and educational opportunities for Laclede County and area farmers, farm supporters, hobby farmers, future farmers, cooperative farming groups, and other stakeholders in one location. Plan to attend and experience great resources to help you improve and expand your agricultural operation.

Visit with Bill McKelvey, MU Extension: Bill will share information about how food and farm businesses can connect with the Heartland Regional Food Business Center, a 5-state initiative focused on helping businesses that serve local and regional markets start-up and expand through networking, technical assistance, and small grants. Additional MU Extension food and farm business resources will be shared as well.

Visit with Anna Maria Desipris, Sun and Bloom Farms: Anna Maria is the co-founder of Sun And Bloom, a regenerative organic and permaculture diversified educational farm in Lebanon Missouri. For the community, they grow veggies, herbs, flowers and fruits and raise chickens and turkeys for eggs and meat, as well as dairy goats and pigs. Additionally, the farm hosts workshops and courses for gardeners, homesteaders, farmers and culinary enthusiasts, as well as children farm education, farm to tale events and community seasonal festivals. Anna Maria will share about the farm’s approaches to becoming a regional hub of all things regenerative organic agriculture and permaculture.
